What is CORD?
The Michigan State University Council of Research Deans (CORD) develops research-related policy and provides recommendations to the Provost and to the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies. It meets weekly during the academic year, either in executive session (research deans only) or in expanded session. In expanded session, CORD provides a cross-campus platform for research deans and affiliated members to exchange information and receive briefings on key research-related topics. CORD elects its own chairperson(s), who serve as the Council's main contact. For the 2021-2022 academic year, CORD is co-chaired by Dr. Srinand Sreevatsan, College of Veterinary Medicine and Dr. William Hart-Davidson, College of Arts and Letters.
